Airush boards and kite 2008/,F-one kites 2007/8, underground boards Here. Da Kine, Pro limit accessories available for sale at Jibe's

Boards and Kites from Airush in various sizes available from  Jibe's club.  Our team of beach boys pump the kite for you and help you with launching and landing the kites, you just have to have fun on the water.

Jibes has been Vietnams leader in kite instruction since its start here in 2001.  We have taught more people to kite than any other school in Vietnam.

Our teaching technique has been developed by watching hundreds of students learn in Mui Nes conditions and finding out what works and what doesnt.

The instructor team has been selected for their experience and follows strict safety standards. Jibes has the widest range of equipment to match your skill level and the conditions you will be learning in.

Please beware! there are also temporary, seasonal, and unlicensed schools operating in Mui Ne.  Some schools may promise to get you riding in just a few hours by shortcutting important safety information and procedures such as the self rescue or by asking students to use a board leash (a major cause of injuries) instead of learning board recovery.

In the kite lesson you will learn the following:

Phase I: Ground School and Intro to 4-line Kite Flying

____How to judge if the wind, beach, and water conditions are good enough for kitesurfing

Wind:    speed, direction, and quality; turbulence and weather conditions

Beach:   Width, obstacles, people, debris on the beach and in the sand

Water:    waves,  depth,  current,  temperature,  sea-life,  tides, obstacles (e.g.nets)

____Setting up your kite and lines

____Using the main and Plan B (safety leash) Quick Releases

____Launch Procedure (S.P.L.A.T. checklist)

            Situation  (beach, wind, water)

Position of you and the kite vs. the wind

Lines and Safety Systems  (Connected correctly? Tangled? Adjusted properly?)

Around (360 degree check of the beach and ocean around you)

            Thumb up

____Kite Recovery   (how to land the kite when there is no one to help you)

____Line Check/ Untangling Lines quickly and easily

____Kite control throughout the wind window

____One- handed control

Phase II:  Bodydragging and Preparation for Waterstart        During this phase you will develop the skills and strategies you need  in order to start riding.

____Self-rescue: when to do it, and how

____Entering and leaving the water safely and easily

____Relaunching: when your kite falls on the water, how to get it in the air again

____Bodydragging upwind efficiently to retrieve your board:

Keeping the kite still at 10 or 2 oclock with one hand

Body position and angle: about 70 degrees to kite lines

            Smooth and controlled turns

____360 degree awareness

____Using kite and body to control direction of motion (upwind, downwind, crosswind)

____Getting into a stable position for waterstart.

____Practicing the waterstart form in both directions:

controlled powerstrokes,

board control,  weight distribution and edging

recovering from crashes

____Getting used to longer lines: using the wind window to control your power

Phase III: Waterstart and Riding       This is where all the skills youve been practicing come together.  Enjoy!

____International right-of-way conventions

____Fine-tuning the powerstroke

____Combining board control (edging) with powerstroke to get up and ride

____Stopping and changing direction

____Going upwind

We will be covering important safety information at each stage of our lesson.

Throughout the course, both you and the instructor will be respecting safety rules and making the judgments calls required for each situation you are in.

Safety rule #1:    Keep your downwind area clear and always be aware of the area 360 degrees around yourself
